IELTS Speaking Part 1: Holidays
1. What do you do in your holidays?
I generally spend my holidays at my home. I try to cook new recipes.
2. Who do you usually spend the holiday with?
I usually spend the holidays with my family, parents, and brother, and sometimes my friends visit me at home.
3. Do you prefer to travel alone or in a group?
I prefer traveling in a group because it is always fun to interact with somebody while traveling.
4. Why are holidays important to you?
Holidays are important to me because they allow us to rejuvenate after a tiring week. It lets us talk with our parents and spend quality time at home.
5. Where would you go and why if you could take a holiday anywhere worldwide?
If I could take a holiday anywhere in the world, I would go to some beach because it has been a long while since I’ve gone to a beach. And since the summer is approaching, so it will have suitable weather.
6. What preparations do you need to make when you go on holiday?
We need to prepare our luggage. The packing should be done minimally. We need to pack all our required clothes, shoes and other things like other personal things.
7. What are some traditional holidays in your country?
Some of the traditional holidays in our country are holidays in September or October when Diwali comes. Then there are holidays on the festival of Holi. Then there are annual summer holidays and annual winter holidays.
8. Do you think that the government holidays in your country are more than enough, or should there be more?
In India, the government holidays are more than enough. There are 15 or 16 government holidays per year. Those are enough because India is diverse, and many festivals are celebrated. Every religion and culture has its special day on which the government gives a holiday.
9. Do you visit your relatives on holidays?
Most of my relatives live in another state. So, on holidays, we don’t visit our relatives.
10. What would you do if you went on a holiday alone?
If I go on a holiday alone, I will record all the exciting moments. I will do vlogging, and I might make a reel and upload it to my social media account.
11. Is your hometown a good place for a holiday?
Yes, my hometown is a good place for a holiday. It has several parks, an artificial lake, and several beautiful libraries. The nightlife in the city is very happening. There are certain places where people go and enjoy music and dance.
12. What do you do while you are traveling?
While traveling, I generally plug in my earphones and listen to music of my choice.
13. Where would you recommend a foreigner to visit in your country?
I recommend a foreigner visit places like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kashmir, and Kerala in India. These four places have the essence of the whole country.
14. Talk about a future trip you would like to go on.
. My friends and I are planning a trip to Rishikesh. We have been planning to go to Rishikesh for a long time now. Now that we have completed our graduation, we all got free. Now we can finally visit Rishikesh. The prime motto behind this trip is that we want to go river rafting in the most dynamic river in the country.
15. How has traveling changed compared to several decades ago?
These days, road connectivity, transport facilities, vehicles, highways, and flyovers, which were not present decades ago, have been built.
16. Is it essential for people to plan their holidays carefully?
Yes, people need to plan their holidays carefully. Because if the person is working, they might get less time for the holiday. And that should be utilized in the best way possible.
