Sample 

A film I watched recently was called Freelancer. It is a movie, and we watched it last weekend at our home with my family. The movie is about a person who used to be in the police in India.

Then, after getting fired from his job due to some legal and ethical issues, he got into RAW and other academies. And he became a prestigious member of that academy. The movie is all about conflicts in different countries. They have taken up the issue of Saudi Arabia and Syria. It is a suspense thriller. We chose to watch it because all of us, my parents and my brother including me, have a great understanding. And we have similar tastes when it comes to movies.

We all like suspense thrillers. And especially if the film has something to do with the ISIS terrorists. In general, it is very fascinating. I felt good after watching the movie because the secret heroes in our country working with RAW are just dedicating their lives to the government for the nation. It was very inspiring. The movie made me think a lot because we all have struggles in our daily lives.

But I was inspired by the man or the main character who was in RAW. Because he had family along with the struggles of his own body and his wife having a mental illness, it was very inspiring to watch how he was being a good husband and a good parent. Along with that, he was able to serve the nation. And it was very inspiring.

How do movies influence culture and society? 

Movies play a huge role in influencing the culture and society. Both things go hand in hand. Culture and society also influence the film. Actors take up hot topics in the country or the world. They make a movie out of it. Some people are influenced by cinema. I will take the example of my brother. He is an outstanding basketball player. He used to watch random movies and read novels. After that, when he was in 6th or 7th standard, a movie was released. He watched that movie, and the sportsperson inspired him in it. And that got him into sports. It is a minimal example. Likewise, these days, people are inspired and follow their passion through movies. 

What role do you think movies play in shaping our perceptions of different cultures, identities, and social issues? 

Movies are a medium of communication. It comes under mass communication. Whenever we talk about mass people in the majority, they are very touchy. Movies can provoke certain groups of people. It can also be a reason for the riots. Movies can also be a reason for people to understand and learn from that movie. There have been incidents where there have been conflicts among various religions or cultures in our country. At that time, the movie was the reason. People take mass media. 

How have advancements in technology and special effects changed how audiences make and enjoy movies?  

The advancement in technology, animation, and the content they display on the screen has increased over the years. People enjoy the movie because of its action and the type of cinematography done in that movie. A prevalent example is the South Indian movies. They showcase extraordinary types of action. The people who are directing the movie have got another level and different kinds of skills. People are enjoying it. Technology has played a massive role in advancing the type of movies. 

What makes a movie memorable or successful, in your opinion? 

The movie should be able to leave an impact on the person who is watching the film. It should be in that person’s interest. The person should feel inspired after watching the movie. If the movie is of light mood, comedy, or some other genre like rom-com, people should be able to achieve that. 

How have streaming services and digital platforms transformed the movie industry? 

Digital platforms have created awareness about movies. It establishes hype among the viewers. Certain songs are released before the release of the film. If people are liking the songs, they watch the movie. All these things contribute to the awareness. People get attracted and are in the mood to watch the film. 

What is the future of traditional movie theatres? 

Traditional movie theatres are a part of the entertainment industry. OTT platforms cannot replace that. People take time out of their busy lives to watch movies. Certain theatres in Mumbai have preserved the authenticity of the film. People do enjoy it. OTT platforms have taken up a massive part in this. I don’t think they will be able to replace traditional cinemas. People will keep going. 

How do you believe the pandemic has affected the movie industry? 

The pandemic has affected every industry, and so has the movie industry. There was no news that the pandemic was released. People were isolated and quarantined in their free time. People watch old movies on television. The old series of Ramayana was telecast. People watched it and enjoyed it. After the pandemic, everyone has this urge to go out. One of the ways to spend time with family and friends is to watch a movie. People have started going to cinemas and watching movies.
